When you imagine Italy, you might dream of verdant green hills, sun, historic towns and terracotta roofs. With this tour, you’ll be transported to picture postcard Italy, just as you imagined.
Set off from Florence and head to Cortona in the heart of Italy, whose hilltop position affords wonderful views over the landscape. You’ll soon discover why this location was the setting for the film ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’ as you’re immersed in a truly Tuscan location. Next, travel on to the medieval town Assisi in Umbria for a tour around its winding streets, and behold the spectacular Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi. Here you can admire Giotto’s frescoes and learn all about the history of this Umbrian treasure before spending some free time exploring it further. Visit the Santa Maria degli Angeli Church, belonging to the Franciscan Order situated at the foot of the hill, before continuing your Italian travels to Perugia.
Discover the Etruscan city of Perugia with a walking tour guiding you through its rich history and monuments. Come across fountains, namely the show stopper La Fontana Maggiore, and the impressive Etruscan Arch of Augustus, as well as the Palazzo dei Priori and the Rocca Paolina. Return to Florence inspired, stimulated and invigorated.
