Highlights
- Explore the most iconic buildings in this historical capital
- Visit the oldest cathedral in America and Diego Columbus´ mansion
- Discover the mysterious underground world in the Los Tres Ojos National Park

After being picked up from your hotel we’ll drive through the lush Dominican countryside heading for the city of Santo Domingo. On arrival, the first stop will be at the Colonial Zone, the oldest part of the city and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travel back in time to an area filled with history. Follow in the footsteps of Christopher Columbus along the cobbled streets, passing palaces converted into museums, hotels and restaurants.

Visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Meno, also known as the Cathedral of Santo Domingo. Dating from the early 16th century, it is the oldest church in the Caribbean and inside it houses artistic treasures of immense value. Appreciate the grandeur of one of the most outstanding colonial buildings in the country: the Alcázar de Colón, as you continue your journey, you will stop at the first fortified palace built in the Hispanic era and home to Diego Colón, firstborn son of the discoverer of America. Admire this ancient construction before heading over to the National Pantheon, one of the last buildings built by the Spaniards on Dominican soil. Here, you will have some free time to explore this great Neoclassical-Renaissance mausoleum or even visit the shops to do a spot of shopping!

What´s more, you will also go to the Tres Ojos National Park, a stunning location in which ceremonial acts were held in the past. Lose yourself in its beautiful caves and lagoons and discover an incredible underground world bursting with life.
