Discover the best of Old Istanbul in this fascinating coach tour. Learn all about the different quarters in this fascinating journey of discovery into parts of the city that many visitors are unaware of. A knowledgeable guide will provide a running commentary as you go, with plenty of local insight.

First stop is Sirkeci, located to the north of the mouth of the Golden Horn, near the Topkapi Palace complex. It is here that famous Sirkeci Station is situated, terminus for the romantic Orient Express. We’ll also stop to admire the romantic promontory of Sarayburnu separating the Golden Horn from the Sea of Marmara where the renowned Topkapi Palace and lush Gulhane Park stand.

From here we’ll continue to through the old Armenian quarter of Kumkapi located along the northern shore of the Marmara Sea, heading past the Bayezid II Mosque, the ruins of the Forum of Theodosius and the Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world.

The Suleymaniye Mosque is the largest mosque in the city, and one of the best-known sights of Istanbul. Nearby is the popular quarter of Zeyrek , overlooking the Golden Horn, with its many Byzantine cisterns.

We’ll continue past magnificent Yedikule Fortress and the historic Roma settlement of Sulukule. From here we’ll cross the ancient district of Edirnekapi with its ancient Muslim cemetery before returning to our starting point at Sultahment through the districts of Ayvansaray and Balat.
