Program details

Discover the work of Antoni Gaudi on this environmentally-friendly guided tour by eBike. Whizz around Barcelona’s Eixample neighbourhood and visit some of the main sites associated with the visionary architect. Our state of the art eBikes are electrically powered offering you a no-sweat, no-hassle ride, but when the motor is turned off they work in the same way as other bike so if you wish you can pedal away to your heart’s content.

After meeting your friendly local guide we’ll head for two of Gaudi’s most famous creations, Casa Milà (also known as La Pedrera) and Casa Batlló. These two fantastic apartment blocks are located on the classy Passeig de Gracia. Your guide will explain the history and symbolism of these two striking buildings and how the Catalan bourgeoisie flocked here at the turn of the last century to flaunt their newly gained riches.

Next we’ll head for the nearby Basilica of La Sagrada Familia, generally considered to be the great man’s masterwork and a synthesis of his overall conception of architecture. The building is unfinished but is still a magnificent monument to his visionary imagination and sheer genius.

The last stop is the Parc Guell, originally commissioned as a housing development by the wealthy Guell Family. This was not a success and the area was turned into a public park by the City Council. Today the gardens are a seamless integration of architecture into nature where you’ll see Doric columns taking on the appearance of massive tree trunks. Admire the famous dragon staircase and the snaking series of benches in the form of a sea serpent and then enjoy amazing panoramic views of the city spread out far below.

Our friendly, knowledgeable guides will provide you with plenty of fascinating information throughout the tour. They can also tell you the best eateries and the coolest places to party in L’Eixample.
