Program details

Delve into the delights of the Louvre with this guided evening tour of the museum capped off with an aperitif at the delightful Café Richelieu. The Louvre is one of the world’s most prestigious museums, boasting some 380,000 works of art, including priceless archaeological pieces from pre-history and Renaissance treasures.

Ever since it was founded in 1793 in the heat of the French revolution, the Louvre has been a must-see for visitors to Paris with priceless works such as the 4,500-year-old The Seated Scribe and the Crown of Louis XV. There are so many pieces that a mere 35,000 are on display, less than 10% of the collection.

The tour focuses on three works: the Venus de Milo, The Coronation of Napoleon and the Mona Lisa. Learn about their value to humanity and the story behind each work. The Venus De Milo dates from about 130BC. It was discovered by a farmer two centuries ago in the Greek island of Milos and sold to the French ambassador. Jacques-Louis David’s The Coronation of Napoleon is a massive oil painting renowned for its rich detail, while Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa is the most famous painting in the world.

Savour the moment at the Café Richelieu with a glass of champagne and some while gazing at the glass pyramid and contemplating the Louvre Museum.
