Program details
Come explore the Grecian landscape and historical sights of Argolis on an eight hour, private tour of the region. An area steeped in ancient history, you'll get a taste of myth and architectural wonder as you make your way from city to city.
Begin by taking in the marvelous scenery as you drive along the coastal road from the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal. You'll make a quick stop here to take photos or just admire the great Canal connecting the Aegean and Ionian Seas. Drive on to Mycenae, the most important archaeological site, often described as the 'city rich in gold'. Here many treasures of the Iliad, including the Golden Mask of Agamemnon, were unearthed. Enter the city through the impressive Lion Gate and make your way up to Agamemnon's Royal Palace. If you wish, have lunch at a traditional tavern, before continuing to Nafplion, a long ago capital of Greece. As your day winds down, enjoy an afternoon drive to Epidaurus, a city rich in culture and history. Once known as the world's greatest healing center, it is also home to the most famous ancient theatre along with the temples of Apollo and Asklepios. Absorb the history that surrounds you, before making your way back to Athens.
With a mix of grandiose ancient buildings, the lure of legend, and the beckoning coastline of Greece, your private tour of the region of Argolis will leave you entertained and captivated with memories of a day full of wonder.
