Immerse yourself in the daily routine of thousands of Athenians as you join the hustle and bustle of the morning markets. Take in the sights, sounds and aromas as you hunt for the freshest produce and best value products. First stop is Euripidou, a street full of intoxicating spice shops. Smell the rich blend of spices that fills the air and make sure to buy a jar as a souvenir. Proceed on foot to the famous covered food market and join the locals as they source the freshest and finest fish, meat, fruit and spices. Get caught up in the colours and the electric atmosphere as the local vendors promote their stock.


Continue to a typical Kafenion and take part in the very Atheniun tradition of a mid-morning Greek coffee before heading to Monastiraki Square to scour the open-air art and craft market for a bargain. Marvel at the ancient Agora and enjoy a snap of ouzo and a small local meze whilst looking out over a superb view of the Acropolis.
