Program details
Get to know the wonderful world of Mediterranean cuisine; the herbs, fresh vegetables, choice meats and cheerful attitude, in this thoroughly entertaining cookery lesson. Learn the basics of how to prepare a full Greek Sunday dinner with easy to follow recipes in this extremely social and relaxed setting. Under the guidance of Maria, master chef and owner of the popular Klimataria tavern, you will learn the local secrets whilst enjoying yourself and making new friends. And the best part is that the whole group sits down together at the end of the session to tuck into the sumptuous feast that you have just prepared.
Set in one of the most popular traditional “tavernas” in the whole of Athens, you will be welcomed with a glass of raki, a delicious local drink, twice distilled for extra purity. The perfect ice breaker for the newly introduced group, it is also a great courage booster for any amateur cooks who are about to throw themselves into a Greek kitchen for the first time!
There is no need for any nerves though, Maria is the perfect host and teacher and she will happily share her cooking secrets with you to help you dazzle your friends and family with your new-found abilities. You will learn how to prepare four typical Greek starters before moving onto the delicious main course, constantly under Maria’s encouragement and guidance.
