Program details
The Park Tour will bewitch you with its balance of the natural world and the built environment, showing that San Francisco can really do both. Departing from Union Square, we’ll head towards Civic Center, with its impressive City Hall and the Asian Art Museum, before we pass by the Opera House and the San Francisco Symphony. On our way to the Park itself we drive along Hayes Street where you can find countless shopping spots and restaurants.
The bus heads into the beautiful Golden Gate Park which is one of the world’s largest (man-made) havens! Covering more than 1,000 acres of downtown San Francisco and sprawling out over more than 50 city blocks, it’s a real gem in such a busy city. Within the park, you can visit renowned attractions such as the De Young Museum, the Japanese Tea Gardens, the Conservatory of Flowers, and the multi-million dollar California Academy of Sciences which features an aquarium, a planetarium and a natural history museum - all under one ‘living’ roof.
Continue to Alamo Square, home to the world famous ‘Painted Ladies’ row of Victorian houses, and head through San Francisco’s Japan Town, passing the spiritual sanctuary of St Mary's Cathedral, before returning to the commercial district around Union Square, just in case you have some energy left for shopping!
